On The Issues

  • Government

We must reign in government and recognize that the government closest to the people is best.

The legislature must use your tax dollars wisely to support our communities and meet our obligations.

Advocating for small government means reducing unnecessary regulations and limiting government interference in our daily lives.

  • Education

As a mother of four and grandmother of 10, Marilyn understands that we must invest in Wyoming’s next generation. That means parents have choices in their child’s education, and lawmakers make sure money is spent wisely. Marilyn will work with local school boards and teachers to support and maintain our community public schools while considering additional educational model opportunities. Marilyn supports parent’s rights in their children’s education.

  • Support Small Towns

Small towns are Wyoming - and all towns in HD40 are small towns. It's essential to address the challenge of maintaining and improving these aging communities. Investing in small town infrastructure is key to their sustainability and success.

  • Lower Property Taxes

Property taxes are still placing a strain on Wyoming families. Some relief came this last legislative session but legislators need to continue taking a hard look at what more can done and still keep our local governments whole.

  • Health

Serving on boards focused on providing mental health services, Marilyn knows Wyoming must prioritize funding and support for mental health resources across the state. Improving access to mental health care services is essential to ensuring our neighbors can get the support they need. We must work towards solutions to maintain our rural community ambulance services and support our local public health offices and hospitals. Marilyn knows our seniors deserve the best care possible and will support programs to keep older adults in their homes as long as possible.

  • Bill of Rights

Marliyn will stand up and step up to ferociously protect our enumerated Bill of Rights.

Our freedom of speech is constantly under attack, and we must push back.

The Second Amendment protects our fundamental rights and is essential to preserving our freedoms.

  • Protecting Our Water and Private Rights

In Wyoming, water is one of the most precious resources for our important agriculture community and everyone who calls Wyoming home. As a headwater state, we must protect our water rights. Marilyn will fight not just to protect water rights but all private property rights, big and small.

  • Fight for our Core industries

In Wyoming, we rely on our core industries of coal, natural gas, oil, bentonite, and uranium. These industries provide jobs and are the bedrock of our economy across the state. We must keep our power grid and transmission lines sustainable. Marilyn will continue to support these key industries and push to keep power affordable.

  • Curbing Federal Government

The federal government owns just over half the land in Wyoming, but the Wyoming people live here. Whether it's pulling mineral leases or attaching strings to school lunch programs, the federal government must be checked. Marilyn will ensure our state laws are protected from federal overreach. We must push back on regulations that work against our local agricultural industry, such as the 30x30 Conservation Initiative.
